Hello, and welcome to my devblog about Sanguine Dream's 0.26 update!

With this update, I've made a ton of changes to the UI, and generally built on the systems that were in the game. 

Rather than it just being a visual novel, I'm working towards making engaging gameplay that can go along with it, with a degree of choice and customisation when it comes to how you want to play.

Additions for this update include:

  • Character art for regular Somnium knights.
  • A new Intro Menu
  • Beautiful background art for both the Somnium Castle as well as the Kobold Quarters.
  • UI adjustments to the explore menu and options menu.
  • Some work on Foreground effects like rain.
  • Additional scenes and adjustments to scenes. 
  • The introduction of dream sequences, which have a chance to occur whenever you rest. 
  • A more streamlined and shortened introduction scene.
  • The main story's content has been changed to trigger whilst exploring, and from there you can follow the various appropriate landmarks to progress. 
  • Improvements to the level up system, where rather than simply picking a class and levelling up, you instead earn points which can be used to purchase new skills from the classes you have available.
  • Improvements to the Equipment and Item menus.
  • An additional UI menu that contains data about the encounters within a location, helps you to keep track of how much they like you, how much they respect you, and how dangerous they are in general. 

Content planned for future updates include: 

  • Set up a scene in your private camp for dealing with Lust, as this isn't reset upon resting by design.
  • Add Landmark content for the ThroneRoom
  • Set up more job tasks for the player to grind money outside of combat encounters.
  • Create the Library as a landmark that can be used to read up on characters, as well as look up encounter elemental weaknesses and the possible items dropped from them. (Has somewhat been adjusted to be the location menu, but elemental weaknesses and item rewards still need to be included)

Additional content added to the to-do list includes:

  • Fix up the UI for the save/load menu
  • Fix up the UI for the main menu
  • Fix up the UI for the shop menu
  • Create more background art for the other areas within the game
  • Create Art for the Armourer, Captain Zephyr, and the Lioness mercenary. 
  • Add Landmark content for the Armourer
